eBay to purchase Skype

Life is over.
All is lost.
It is no longer worth living.
The sky is falling.
Coments are falling towards the Earth.
D-Day is apon us.

eBay bought Skype.

That means, say good bye to good, free, computer to computer calling with no ads.

They bought half of it with stock…

Life’s over.

KEEP YOUR OLD VERSIONS OF SKYPE!

Luxer Update #3 — Project with Friends

I finally found some time to post. :)

First off, the project my friends and I started.

Its called ProDev Studio.

It includes all the tools needed to devlope powerful, Java based applications and uses REALbasic to support UI or code addons.

Luxer has already been converted to ProDev.

The power of the thing is fonominal… Just imagine, interface design for Java, more powerful REALbasic, all rolled into one application.

Sadly, our target market is a little above the average reader of this blog.

ProDev Studio costs $500, and is currently in use by our school.

Back to Luxer for a minute — I work on Luxer for about 20 minutes, M – F, so expect a beta version close to the end of this week (after the monday holiday — Go Columbus!)

Grades Come… Project With Friends

Ugh.. Unbelievable. I got so caught up with Luxer, my grades took a smash:

PE – A+
Computers – A+
Science – A+
Language Arts – C
Social Studies – B-
Math – A+

My parents are the type who kill for anything under an A+… So they suspended my computer’s DHCP license — For all you non-geeks, I can’t boot on my home computer.

I was lucky enough to get Luxer uploaded onto aero-net1 before they killed it.

I should be work on Luxer every once and a while, but development will slow.

Also, my friends and I have started a little project… In stores soon! Really. (More info later). This will most likely suck up most of my spare time, so Luxer is now in my spare-spare time for at-least 6 weeks…

Sorry for all the bad news, I am trying!

Clone a computer to a second

At school, I discovered how to clone a computer to a second one.

All you need:

  1. A firewire cable
  2. Mac OS X on both computers

Boot the computer to clone up in target firewire mode… Boot up holding down the “T” key.

Wait until you can see the drive on the cloner. Then, do a get info on the firewire drive. Make sure to DISABLE “Ignore Premissions”.

Open disk utility, and use restore. Set the source to the cloner, and the destisation to the computer to be cloned.

Click restore.

Hope it helps ;)

Luxer Update #2

Gimme a “W”! Give me a “O”! Give me a “O”! Give me a “T”!

woot!

I just finished the JavaOp integration! It works!

Which means, I have successfully logged into battle.net and I can parse chat events!

The next part is the most painful; Getting JavaOp to work with no GUI (easy) automatically (hard).

After that, its smooth sailing!
