Today, I did the least geek-ey-ist thing possible. I actually purchased music. With MONEY. As opposed to… errr… obtaining it from other sources…
I bought the Green Day album Bullet In A Bible, and was quite satisfied.
The album contained two discs, an audio CD and a DVD.
The DVD was just a recording of the concert, and was not that interesting. At some points it was actually quite horrible, like when the lead singer moons the audience. Its far more interesting to watch it with iTunes visualizer. I did not quite care about the special features, but somebody who was into the band and the music might have enjoyed it.
As for the music, its typical Green Day. Anti-war, Anti-Bush, basically me. They did a genius job engineering the songs, and the live versions are great.
All in all, not worth the $20. When I bought it, I expected to get the feeling that I was doing something right by not… obtaining… the music. Instead, I just felt ripped off.
In the words of the aviator: “Rent them [and rip it] if you can, steal it [preferable] if you have to.”
