Luxer beta 14 released

I released beta 14 of Luxer today.

Changes:
– Added a greet option.
– Made help links to news and forums work.
– Tweaked anti-flood (will not flood out on .help anymore)
– Added set command… .help set for more information.

You can download the new version here: http://marcusfamily.info/~ryan/forums/index.php/topic,15.0.html

I’ve discovered a security hole in Luxer. Anybody can use any custom command, regardless of access. Anybody with an access of 1 can use ALL custom commands.

More on Ubuntu

I recently downloaded Qemu, which is a x86 emulator for quite a few platforms, including Linux.

I started it up and went through the guide, it was quite easy.

I’m installing XP now, and its going very slowly because I only gave it 128 MB of memory… Once the installation is done, I will give it 400 MB to see if I can get a few battle.net bots up to mess around with.

Anyway, as I am installing XP under Qemu, my CPU has hit 100%. Now, if your on a Mac, you know that when your CPU hits 100%, your not doing anything. Your computer is essentialy locked up. Well, with Ubuntu, I was able to open GAIM, and start Firefox, at just about the same speeds I normally do.

It’s all because Ubuntu uses your processor way better then OS X does.

Ubuntu… It rocks.

I just finished installing Ubuntu on my eMac! It works great, and I’m using it to post.

I got MoL working, finally, so I still have my Mac as well. If you feel the need to try out Ubuntu, but don’t want to give up your mac, drop me a line on AIM at Kraftybowman, I’d be happy to get you started.
