I’ve discovered the math behind Starcraft, and reached some interesting conclusions.
Essentially, I measured the mineral effectiveness of each race. These where the final results:
- Protoss:50.26%
- Zerg:47.42%
- Terran:39.49%
Before you start flaming me for calling Protoss the best race, let me explain.
The Protoss are not the best race, they are just the coolest looking.
These numbers do not represent how good a race is, it measures how effective they are in terms of their mineral to attack and HP.
If you’d like to check my math before I start drawing conclusions, here are the spreedsheet files:
From this information, I can also draw that each race has some units clearly better then others, disregarding player’s skills:
Protoss
- Zealots
- Carriers
Zerg
- Infested Terran
- Ultralisk / Guardians
Terran
- Vulture
- Goliath / Marine
This does not mean these units are better, because this is disregarding players skills.
All this means is cost effectiveness, and that the Protoss are the easiest, followed by the Zerg, followed by the Terran. More analysis to come.

School ended yesterday! My friends and I had a 24 hour party (I’m tired!) and now we are ready to start summer…
Since I will no longer be at school, it should quadruple the amount of time I have to work on things.
I also thought that, for the summer, I would change the theme, so I hope you enjoy it!

It seems Blizzard no longer allows CHAT connections to any of thier servers. Which means every single chat client or bot that used the CHAT protocol to connect to battle.net will no longer work.
I can’t believe Blizzard can’t see what is about to happen to them.. Every single newb who ever used a CHAT bot on battle.net is going to start using one with a CDKey, which basically will change the population of non-CHAT players from 1 bot to every 3 people to 3 bots to every 1 person..
I am officially running a bot with a SC CDKey because I got tired of playing and not being able to control my iTunes… It’s a pretty harmless bot, it just sits in op Luxer and allows me to do everything Luxer normally does.
Which brings me to my next announcement.. Luxer is back. Blizzard no longer allows me to use my bot for CHAT connections, so I am going to write it as a binary bot again. I don’t see a problem with having a harmless iTunes control bot on battle.net, and if Blizzard says otherwise… well, screw them.
